Can anyone tell me what these casting numbers mean? Two of the other rods in my engine are numbered 5 C 27363 and C 27363. The part numbers cast into the other side of the rods all match (R616.103.101.00). Thanks!

T, (Tom, Tyler, Terry....?), the 00 rod were used for a short time in the early '60's, and are perfectly acceptable for street use on 616. They have an upper beam section that resembles the 01 (C/SC/912) rod with a cap that is similar to the early "spaghetti" rods. I have installed dozens of sets of these over the years without problems. Don't worry about the different casting #s. Some things to keep in mind. These rods typically do not have the mate #s stamped on the cap and beam, near the split line, so it's easy to mix them up, or put the caps on backwards. Don't do that. Be sure the lengths and weights are very close to one another. Smile
