Taking another run at fixing up my bug. The engine is rebuild 1600sp out of Kline VW San Diego. Used the old components, now i'm looking to update them finally.

He is a 67 and has some rust. Been banged up a few times, so it's not perfect.
Its worth cleaning up because.....well just because.

Suggestions? I will be def. going with Single Port Dual Carbs.

Gonna drop the engine probably tomorrow and start sanding/grinding
Engine Bay/Fenders/Wheel wells etc.

I just tore out the 48 year old engine padding....it was falling apart so it was time for sure.

Gonna have to get some Coronas Cool

Worth while for sure!! Looks like you have some of your mud work done on the inner wheel well already. I alwyas tell people to try to break the car down into sections. Sometimes when you look at it as a whole, you can get overwhelmed. Pull the engine, clean it up, do your paint work, new seals, whatever. Then pull the fenders, strip them, do your hammer and dolly work, epoxy prime, whatever. Pull the interior out, see what parts you need to order, begin cleaning, stripping...etc... you get the idea. Then before you know it you will be done.

Oh and make sure you have a fan in there. If it gets hot, its easy to get discouraged and go inside to cool down.....and never come back out!
