Cheers for all the input, I really must have fluffed something up here.
It's only a mock up at least, will split the case again and check the cam to crank alignment and report back, hopefuly it's just that.

degreeing is easy and willtell you what is going on. looking at the dots do nothing in reality....unless you do have them off.but you still need to degree the cam. and ...dont for get degreeing the cam is exzactly that. it's done at the cam,not valve timing,it's cam timing Wink

X2, Much better to degree at the lifter/cam. Accuracy/consitantcy gets lost when you add a bunch of other parts into the mix.

Yep.... I'm an idiot!

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

Lined up the slot with a bolt as I had it in my head it would only line up with one bolt... And assumed it lined up with the dot... Assumption is the mother of all.... Wink

Wait..... IT IS SLOT TO DOT. Something is not right.

Here is a quick check in the case. At TDC the lobes on 1/3 should be down or pointed to #3. (think about what the cam looks like when you adjust your valves on number 1 TDC)
