I thought I'd post up some pics of my "non-resto" 65 Notch that I'm rust out of. I've owned this car for 15 years now, and I plan on keeping it as long as I can. When I originally bought it, I did so as a "long term project".
I know, enough babbling, here's the pics.

Those 1st ones were of sandblasting. I've had rust issues with the roof ever since I bought the car, but not all of them came back to haunt me.

That section in the last pic above is partly why all this work is being done.I got it from Mike about 3 or 4 years ago, but never got a chance to install it.
Here's some more pics. Maybe Steve will like what he see's. Wink

Yeah, that's about a weeks worth of work in between rain showers. Wink
Tuesday, I get to go for a ride and get some more materials, then I can pull the glass out, and replace the front cowl piece. That that 1 part has been a royal PIA ever since I 1st tried to fix it many years ago.

What you're seeing above though, is stripping most of the paint off the roof, sandblasting it, then DP 90 (black), folowed by K-36 sandable primer.
For now I'm done on the roof, until the cowl part is replaced. That might be a while though, as I'm in no hurry on it (although I've got several people wanting work done). I'll post up pics as work progresses.

Ok, I got what I needed to be able to carry on a little more. First up was getting the windshield out. Then I figured I'd post up a pic of what I'm going to use for Steve. That's about 340 bucks sitting on the old cowl.
Then, it was cutting time. Cool

I then decided I should see how it fits. Looked pretty good just laying on top there, but after a few minutes, I decided to do some slight trimming, and actually fit it in place. Another few minutes later with some clamps, and it's looking pretty good. Just need to pull it off, sandblast a little on the top side, and I should be good to go to weld it on. Cool

Still need to do a little more trimming and fitting, but it's very close.

I love the menagerie of clamps holding it all together! That's some bold work you're doing there. Looks real promising. I'll be watching your progress.

Thanks for the compliments guys. Yeah, the clamp deal was gathering up what I could use, as space is tight in some spots.
I've still got some more clean up to do on the donor piece though, before anything else happens. It's been very humid with some rain mixed in keeping me from cleaning it up like I'd like it to be. Although it was mostly "rust free", from Mike, it did have some rust, and it had been repainted some time in it's life.Rolling Eyes But it is what it is, and I'll deal with it as I come across stuff. It's not my first rodeo.

Well, I figured I'd post up some current pics. I trimmed the opening a little more, and got the fit good enough to weld in. So here are those pics.

Now, I could finish cleaning up the panel section, so I could prime it off.

Now with it primed in both DP, and K-36, so it can finish getting ready for paint. At least the welding is done on that section. Cool

Now I can move on to some block sanding, and some general clean up between rain showers.

Back to blue, as I like that color I painted it years ago. Cool

Like the title says, I'm not restoring it, but rather doing some paint maintenance on it (along with chasing some rust). Right now, the seats and carpet are still in it, as I just tossed a big piece of cardboard inside to keep the industrial crap out. Wink I guess I'm getting lazy in my old age. Laughing I mean I've only got about 2 weeks of actual work into it right now, but then I've been just working on it here and there, along with doing other work for other people.Shocked
