Don't get excited, it doesn't exist (as far as I know).

But I wonder what it would have looked like? The chassis differences might have forced some body changes, as it did with the Type 1 and 3 designs. Have any of our local automotive artists thought what Ghia styling might have looked like, say around 1970, a few years after the Type 3 Ghia design?

No doubt economics made such a vehicle a non-starter, but from a design standpoint, it might have been interesting.

Anyone got the urge to draw something up?

Type47 (VWPorsche 914) 1970!
Built by Karmann, based on many Type4 parts.
Some 120.000 cars built ,1970-75.

Type3 1970!
Karmann Cheeta (ItalDesign) based on the type3, never made it to production.
(same Pedrini rims as the 914 above).

Laughing I was thinking 914 as well......and the Cheeta.....reminds me of Bertone work (think Fiat X19) Ray
