Just as it says, will I need to use the plastic "flowers" between the axle tube and tranny with a Pro Street box? I've read that they weren't used in later cars, but I've always dealt with earlier stock stuff. I have been searching for these things everywhere and nobody seems to have them advertised so it'd be easier if I didn't even need them.

I would use them. They keep the axle tubes from rubbing on the case. You don't want the shavings running around in the tranny.

You read wrong. VW used them right to the end of production in 2003.

^^^^correct^^^^^ and, yes you do need them. The fact that you dont know this makes me question your ability to correctly install axles and tubes on a s/a trans.
