I just put aftermarket ones on my car. Mine fit barely, but when you tighten them up, they pull backward for the front of the handle to catch on the metal edge. |

you are better off sourcing good used ones then transferring your tumblers or getting them re-keyed. there are several people here on the samba that do that. _________________ Rick

Cheked them out at Wolfberg and the part # was the same as the one from e-bay but it was cheaper and free shipping on e-bay. |

I hear that. The PO of mine threw out all the old stuff and bought new. So now I have an ignition key, different one for the driver door, different one for the passenger door, and a different one for the decklid. UGH! |

Search the classifieds for gabvwkey or steelerbus. Those two Samba members can help you out with original keys and locks. _________________ View my 66 build thread here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507996 |

Or i can just replace the tumblers with working key and keep my old handles, like one of the Samba members mentioned before. But still cant buy original blank VW keys and make copys because aftermarket keys are totaly different. |

Use your original door handles and ignition and get matching tumblers and keys from the members I mentioned. One key for doors and ignition and no aftermarket crap issues. It is not cheap but it is worth it. _________________ View my 66 build thread here: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=507996 |
