Few from today. I took them when it was dark out so I'll get a couple in the morning before I leave for work. I will say that I had a little issue with tiger striping. I think it was because my lighting was weak and i couldn't see due to the fact that I put 2 pop up canopies over the car to keep tree stuff off it while spraying. Live and learn. I'm still pretty happy with the results.

There is a little bit of peel in there in a few spots. Not sure why I got it on the car and almost none on the fenders. I guess that's the difference between knowing what you're doing and faking it in your backyard. |

Looks great! Nice job! A little wet sand and buff and it will look like a show car! How many coats of clear did you end up putting on? |

I ended up doing 3 coats of clear. I was only going to do 2 but put the third on trying to clear up the peel. It helped a lot but still ended up with a little. I'm happy with the results though. You guys really helped me get it done. |

More clear usually means more peel. But thats good. Sooner or later you will want to wetsand and buff that. Most likely when its all together and way harder than now. Dont worry, we all do things the hard way. But when you do decide, that is plenty of clear so you wont have to be too worried about going through it. |

Haha. Yeah, Ill def be wetsanding when its way harder considering I started putting it back together today. Any idea what would cause the tail light housings and the license plate light to dry all cloudy? I put 2 coats of clear on them with the 2nd coat too heavy im pretty sure. Will I be able to wetsand them clear again or will I have to do them over completely? |

Not sure what would cause that. If you have more color, I would just resand it smooth with 600, then repaint and reclear. No sense in just clearing it because that may not fix it. |

I prob have just enough color to re shoot them. I'm gonna give them till tomorrow and see if they clear up. Then I'll try and wetsand them. If that doesn't work I'll re shoot them. |

You won't need 3 coats of color to fix the issue. A good scuffing and just enough color to cover the problem. Then light coats of clear. Suppress the need to lay it on real heavy.
That's one thing us rookies always feel is needed...HEAVY coats. Its not about that. Its about nice even coats. I have NEVER seen a heavy coat fix anything.
For some reason us rookies always seem to think its the answer. |
