The factory manual calls for a VW grease used in wheel cylinders and the cups inside the cylinders.
Where can I get this stuff, or what is a good substitute?
Thank you all,
DD

In the past I have seen people say they use Sil-Glyde from NAPA.

I used it on my Squareback and haven't had any issues but I don't drive it very much.

Auto parts used to sell "brake assembly fluid", but that has pretty much disappeared from the shelves since few people rebuild brake cylinders anymore. The Sil-Glyde Everett mentions is probably as good as anything, just plain brake fluid works well in most instances as well.
