Hi to all
So after lurking for years its time to start posting a bit.
I am Leon and live in Pretoria South Africa. I have owned a bus now for nearly 3 years and have restored it until now. I did my first road trip last week and thought I would share some images.
My dream since day one of owning the bus was to take it to Kruger National Park and do a trip through the park. My main fears was breaking down so I loaded a lot of spares and meeting up with an elephant that might ruin my new paint job.
So over the last 9 days I have been in the park driving more than 600 miles inside the over the few days. Speed limit in park ranges between 25 on gravel and 30 mph on tar roads. Then you drive and stop all the time as well. So a 100 mile drive takes quite a while.
Here are a few pictures. Best holiday ever and I did not break down once.
The car needs very good clean up though.
I think ship your busses here and do a never to be repeated trip............

While on a SAFARI in Africa it would be sacrilege to not use your SAFARI WINDOWS. Awesome stuff! |

Wow! Nice first post Leon! Best use of Safari windshields (while on an actual Safari) ever! More photos please of both the African Safari trip and some of your Bus, and perhaps a little background story on getting and fixing up your '59 Samba!

Kruger national park in a bus! Wow! Lucky you!
I've been to Pilanesberg in a diesel Nissan 4x4. My bus would not fit in my carry-on. |

Really enjoyed trip. Well on the open safari's lions won't bother you. There was an attack on a tourist a while ago bit these were lion kept in a smaller enclosure in a private controversial park that are also used to humans. These lion see cars but never humans and are really wild. Thousands of tourists a day and I don't know of attacks. I was more worried about a elephant that damages my paint.
Here are images that was taken outside the bus in most cases through safaris.
Images include black and white rhinos leopard and cheetah a king fisher wild dogs hyena and honey badger.

Thanx for comments, I can really advise anyone to go to Kruger Park really a nice place and you can do it on various budgets. You can camp for $20 stay for $40 dollars (2 people) in a basic chalet or nice chalet $100 (2 people) and then book a luxury lodge all the way up to $2000 per night per person. Kruger Park is average 40 miles wide and between around 250 miles long.
So the most the animal image could have been taken anywhere. I thought I would add a few where bus features.
Images below shows how some of the basic accommodation looks and also tented luxury house in Tambotie camp
