|
|
My left rear axle seal was leaking. When I disassembled the #7 washer was missing. I reassembled with the washer provided in the new seal kit. Now the oil deflector #13 is tight against the cover #14. The deflector was loose before I disassembled.
Any ideas what I did wrong, am disassembling for inspection now.
Thanks in advance

Dropped a fulcrum in the diff, the axle is now too far outward. Remove trans and axle assembly and re-assemble correctly _________________ There are no stupid questions, only stupid people,

Is that a common occurrence? I did not let the axle move out while the cover was off, could it have been that way before I disassembled? I really dodn't have time to r&r the trans. Have run next weekend.
Thanks Wes |

Maybe check the outside spacer that rides in the seal. That spacer has a relief/bevel machined on one side to go over the small o-ring. Maybe this got flipped, and is not letting the spacer to butt up against the bearing properly, and wedging the splash washer into the cap. |
