Available here. I have not used these so I cannot comment on the quality.

The quality of parts unless stated, is pretty poor from CIP1. Even when stated, take it with a grain of salt when you order. I purchased some stuff that said good quality and even best yet when i got the items they were marginal.

To clarify- most stuff for late model beetles is comparably cheaper in quality than parts for earlier cars. The demand for quality has yet to match that of earlier beetle restorers.

Since H4s are a dime a dozen now I'd at least try to buy the best used or NOS Hella taillights/rings and headlight rings you can get your hands on.

Here are the OEM Hella tail light lenses.

I don't know how much of the headlight assembly you need, but the same shop has the Hella assembly and some of the individual components.

http://www.paruzzi.com/webstore/?zoektrefwoord=3653&group=9&subgroup=41&

Edit: I don't buy from shops that don't say what brand they are selling.

Edit 2: The "C10" part numbers at CIP1 are distributed by Empi.

here is genuine german hella h4's available at - gasp - cip1 (thought they only sold crap...well at least thats what some people say Razz )

http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=C24-BAA-941-751-AGR

for euro tail light lenses, your options are considerably limited. look for good used originals, settle for the crappy aftermarket ones available that will fade in a year or two. or pay upwards of 50 euro's for the ones in the link from the paruzzi store - however even though it says they are good quality, i didn't see in the description that these lenses are hella's aka original equipment manufacturer (OEM), so the quality could be less then originals.

there have been very few quality aftermarket tail light lenses for any year bug, euro or US spec, made over the years. they all seem to made out of cheap plastic that cracks easy when mounting and they are subject to fading quickly in sunlight.

Just be aware that West Coast Metric doesn't make most of the parts that they sell, including the ones that you are looking for. You would have to call them to see if their "German" version of the tail light lens is Hella or a repop. Paruzzi names the Hella brand on my link above.

We need to have conversations like this one because most VW parts shops hide what they are selling from their customers. In some cases, they have no idea who makes the products that they sell. You don't need to play their game, just buy from the ones that are honest enough to name their brands. If we all did that, then we would quickly change the market for the better, and we would all benefit in time, money, and reliability. We would also help to keep the OEMs producing these parts, because they would sell enough of them to justify it.

I decided recently to compile information on the best available parts and sources for each one in a long post on this forum. Stay tuned. We need to break this trend.

The tail lights I got from Westcoast Metric I got for my '69 have not cracked or faded after four years of use.
