I just got my stock rims painted and I'm looking to get nicer tires.

Anyone put lower profile wheels and spacers on the stock rims?

Any photos?

Curious as to why you would need spacers. Do you want to get move the tire closer to the fender lip, or are you worried that the new, wider tires would rub on the suspension parts?
If your wheels are stock (4.5") I wouldn't recommend going wider than a 175mm tire.

the previous owner had wider rims that rubbed when i lowered on the lower ball joinst so i got spacers. I wanted to use the same spacers and put the stock rims and caps on and i liked how it was flushed by the fender.

It looks like he is trying to use his aluminum wheel lugbolts on steel wheels? Forget the spacers & just use stock 'ball seat' lugbolts for steel wheels. Low profile tires leave a huge fender to tire gap & look Bad! I got a set of 185X60 on stock wheels that seem okay but I wouldn't go any bigger than 185! I bought longer lugbolts for spacers on the back of my squareback from http://www.ezaccessory.com/Lug_Wheel_Bolts_s/20.htm

Very interesting & good info, Mike, thank you. And it appears in the picture you provided that you added some sort of an adapter to go from the ball seat bolt to the straight shank for a "mag" wheel? Thanks again! I am just starting to get into the world of alloys and wheel spacers...
