Are all oval windows the same for 53-56? I have a friend who is looking. My bugs are all 67 and older so I do not know much yet about these older ones. |

I do believe they are the same but maybe someone else might know for sure. |

Volkswagens evolved throughout the entire production run, so no, all ovals are not the same.
You could divide them roughly into early and late ovals, 1953 to 1955 and 1956 to 1957, as the largest number of changes were made for the '56 model year. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.

... I believe all the glass size is all the same, through 1964. The difference is in the lift channel. That's the metal channel the glass sits in.
Zwitter Splits 10/52 through mid-1955 with early wing window doors are the same channel and then...
... after that through 1964 use a channel, different from the earlier version. _________________ 5/50, pastel green 11G - SOLD

Are you asking specifically about glass? Up to 1964 the glass is all the same size.
If you're looking for 1953-57 specific glass, you want the manufacturer logos to be large font, regardless of DURO GLAS or SEKURIT. No other markings |

Hah. I was thinking the question was about oval window cars in general. _________________ We are striving for perfection, to make our cars run forever, if possible.
