The Thunderbugs are BC’s oldest VW club and were true pioneers of the local VW/Cal-Look scene! We will be honouring them and celebrating their history with a gathering of original members, stories, pictures and memorabilia.
Limited edition Thunderbugs t-shirts will be available with proceeds going to the local Firefighters charity.
The Vintage Speed & Collectables event is Canada’s largest collection of rare, NOS, OEM and hard to find VW parts, accessories, toys & literature for sale and on display all under one roof. This will be your chance to find that ultra rare or collectable part before the big show on Sunday!
$5 donation for entry, all proceeds go to the local Firefighters charity.

Concord Pacific Expo Site, 88 Pacific Blvd, Vancouver, BC
The Great Canadian Volkswagen Show will welcome approximately 5000 car enthusiasts and their families to the Concord Pacific Expo Site. Air-cooled and Water-cooled, New and Old, VWs will be on display and ready for judging throughout the park. Families can enjoy taking part in a variety of activities and vendors will be showcasing what’s new and hot on the market!
Western Canada's largest VW event attracts some of the finest Stock and Custom VWs from around the Pacific Northwest, including many past and present Hot VWs Magazine feature cars (18+ cars shot at past GCVW shows). Over 100 awards in 48 Classes. All types of VWs in any condition welcome. Dealer Displays, Swap Area, 50/50 Draw, Trivia Contests and more...an entire day of VW fun for the whole family!
Please note: For the safety of all spectators, once vehicles are parked in the car show and swap meet areas they must remain there until after the awards ceremony (which runs from approx 330pm-430pm).
Swap Meet Area spaces are available for every type of VW parts vendor. We offer small private (15' x 15') swap spaces for $40. Swap setup opens at 7am and closes when space is filled (on a first come, first-served basis) and is usually full by 10am. For Dealer Display and New Product Vendor areas, please contact the show administrator to pre-register.
This year we have gone old school and done away with the pre-registration for displaying your VW in the show. A simple new morning of registration is in effect! The fee for displaying your VW in the show is $25 CAD. Registration on Sunday morning takes place from 8am to 11am, space cannot be reserved or guaranteed day-of-show.

allright!!!
word on the street is that the Thunderbugs Reunion and Vintage Speed & Collectibles event on saturday is going to be insane!! it sounds like there will be a lot of original Thunderbugs members present and they're all doing their best to collect all their cool old gear (pics, patches, jackets, etc) to have on display!! we're all very excited to have a chance to honour and celebrate this cool club!!
plus...limited edition Thunderbugs t-shirts will be for sale and tables will be full of rare and hard to find vintage speed parts, collectibles, toys & literature!!
plus...dont forget about the show-n-shine & dinner & movie afterwards at seymours pub where raffle tickets will be sold for the chance to win a trip for 2 to anywhere westjet flies!!
plus...all proceeds raised from the t-shirt sales, the raffle and the reunion/collectables event go towards the local fire fighters charities!!

next sunday...the main event...the Great Canadian VW Show 2015!!
the largest VW show and swap meet in Canada!! all makes & models of air-cooled & water-cooled VWs are welcome!!
the show location is at Concord Pacific Place @ 88 Pacific Blvd in Vancouver BC right beside False Creek & Science World with the stadiums, downtown and the North Shore mountains as a backdrop!!
swap meet registration 7am-10am. car show registration 8am-11am. spectator gates 8am-5pm.

this saturday night...we'll have VW Gassers - The Muscle Beetles Story playing on the big screens at Seymours pub!! it features original Super8 film footage of all the old race cars from back in the day and includes interviews with all the legends...Darrell Vittone, the Schley Bros, Ken Lowry, Ron Fleming, Larry Kelley and many more!!!

So, not the Classic, but for the size of our city, an amazing turnout for the Sunday show, the 24th Annual Great Canadian Vancouver, B.C..... with the support of all the local clubs, a fantastic day! Thanks to all our friends from Washington State, Oregon and California who made the trip, tons of fun.
