Hi All. I purchased a beautiful 77 custom type 2 with the intent to use as a work van for my photography business. I gently took out most of the interior coach work and put it into dry storage to protect it. Now I have a gutted van from the front seats back. I want to line the interior to protect it from getting dinged up, especially since the bare metal is the back side of the exterior custom paint job. I want the option of remounting the coachwork and converting it back. So the question is. Does anyone know of a kit that I can by to install inside the cargo area to protect it? Or a set of patterns so I can create my own walls of protection?

There are a couple of Samba members who do a lot of interior panel fitting: Look up Clara (plywood panels) and Werksberg (ABS plastic panels).

You can search the classified for their usernames and see what their products look like. Both do top notch work!

If they can't make you what you want or it's too costly, they aren't to hard to make out of 1/8-inch mdf. Not to make the thread about this, but the ones I ordered fit sooo poorly, I just made my own and put a faux wood grain on them. The pics I've seen show that Clara does great work.

you might look at the BACK of cheep bathroom paneling .
cheapest way to get a 4x8 panel to cut and fit ....buy a roll of kraft paper to make up your patterns .
