Hi,
Now that I bought a Ghia, I thought I should start a topic about the various things I do to it.
I bought this Ghia in Portland, Oregon in mid-July. My goal is to fix it up little by little. I don't have the funds to restore or repaint it (going to college in Portland).
Most of the body is rust free, except for the rear floor pans.
Originally the car was from New Mexico. It was then donated to a non-profit radio station in portland where the previous owner bought it.
As you can see the seat cover and door panels are in horrible condition, just ordered new ones. However, the carpet is like new and of good quality.
The bumpers are in very good condition.
The engine is a 1600 dual-port engine. I'm kinda bummed that it isn't the original. Sad .
Anyways, hope you enjoy the pics and I'll keep you updated on it. Very Happy

I remember seeing that Ghia at Speed's Auto Auction in January. Here's the link: http://auctions.speedstowingauction.com/1965-Volkswagen-Karmann-Ghia_i21397414

It looks like the previous owner got it running and cleaned it up quite a bit.

Yep that's it! I did almost all the work Laughing. So far I overhauled all the brakes, got it running, and repainted the rims and the steering wheel.

Nice ghia! I was the one that got out bid at that auction! That ghia looked
to be in pretty good shape, glad it found a good home. Something was
a little wonky with the deck lid and the area just below the rear glass, but
all in all an excellent ghia!
