Hi there, just started in at the Ghia side of the Samba, I have been over on the Baywindow thread for awhile,.. but this little beauty fell into my lap.
Meet Scarlet, She's a '68 that fell I never thought I'd find, especially around these parts and I couldn't be happier, She's had no corners cut on the bodywork, and money wasn't a problem with the time, effort and parts put into her to get to this stage by previous owner before he ran out of interest to pursue his other bugs..have alot of work cut out for me, but the nasty stuff is done.. I changed over the transaxle this weekend, and have already had some help from the good folks here..I'm sure I'll be annoying the shit out of you guys soon as KGs are new to me!
1904 Stroker comes with
New Rancho short axle
Came with a pile of new and old parts
No rust or bondo..trust me, I had my magnet
New Trans in this weekend _________________ '68 Campmobile-Pedro

Welcome to the Ghia side. I also have a Bay and I find the Ghia people to have far fewer cranky comments LOL.
Looks like a great little car there and the engine bay is even easier to work in than the Bus |

Nice score! The short axle swap will allow you to put some decent sized tires in back. _________________ 1966 Karmann-Ghia convertible |

Yep..we can get pretty cantankerous over there on the Bayside
That new trans seems pretty cranky to turn the axles by hand, figuring because it's brand new and bone dry..waiting for the proper bearing cover plates so I can fill 'er up _________________ '68 Campmobile-Pedro

Nice looking Ghia. A lot of the hard work has already been done - I remember what I went through to get mine going. I started with a used condition car with little done other than a bad black paint job over the original Bahia Red. Good thing was the car was only driven on nice summer days - proven by the fact that the only rust was the tin under the battery in the engine compartment.
I have to admire the guys that take a car with rusty holes everywhere and cut it out and replace it with original metal in good condition.
Keep us up on what you're doing with the car. So far it looks great. _________________ 71 Ghia Coupe - stock body - no rust! Powered by a 2110 W/Dual HPMX 44's - Rancho Pro Street Transaxle - A/C by Gilmore
