I didn't notice this before rebuild. Is this something to be concerned with? |

It doesn't sound good.
Not is the time to fix it. _________________ Glenn

Here is a couple photos. One showing a straight edge on the exhaust valve stems showing the gap above the intakes. Second shows how deep in combustion chamber. |

Just set rocker geometry to a happy compromise between intake and exhaust. Or use lashcaps on the intake. _________________ I strive for perfection. Excellence will not be tolerated!

Guys, thank you for the replies. I feel I need to have the heads repaired. Who should I send them to? |

All that needs to be done is to have the valve job cut deeper into the seat on the intakes. Any shop that rebuilds cylinder heads should be able to do that for you. _________________ Please "LIKE" us on facebook to see what we are working on.

what size valves? if those are 35's you should be able to put 37's in and correct the situation. I would not purpusly sink the intakes. |

Yeah, someone may have just stuck in bigger valves not knowing....best to take them out and inspect before doing anything. _________________ Please "LIKE" us on facebook to see what we are working on.

Don't sink the intakes.
The valve being deep won't hurt anything, and the aluminum that has been ground out won't be re-placed, so the new seat will have a lip around it, so it's not going to be perfect. You might just fix the stem height and leave the seat alone, unless the reason it's deep is the seat is made of butter..........in which case replace the seat.
What kind of rockers will you use? |

These are L6 heads, 42mm intakes and 37.5 mm exhaust valves with multi angle valve job. I guess what I'm most concerned about is the 3 angle cut, loss of spring pressure on the exhaust valves and rocker geometry. |

Why didn't you setup the springs? Why didn't he setup the springs?
Somebody has to do it if you want that done.
If it has lash caps you can shorten the valve for sure, if not then maybe don't grind more than .015"
You could also make a shorter valve to fit the sunk seat, you could replace the seat.
A lot of things can be done but I get the feeling this is mostly lazy cheapness at work both with the problem and the solution.
how good does it need to be? just good enough to work? it may be fine then. |

If the valve fit to seat is correct adj rocker as mentioned, run it until seat fails at a later date which could be many miles, as usual no warranty offered at this time. |
