I am wondering what folks have used to repair their six leg middle seat spring sections with. My fold down spring section is toast (backrest). Has anyone used something from a bug or another model that looks perfect like the original when all said and done with new covers installed?

I haven't done this myself but I sent you a PM with someone who I think did it in the past.

My local general upholstery shop has the coil springs but they are not the same as stock ones. I went there to look at replacing the springs for my old '55 Kombi front seat base.

I don't know if the size difference is Metric vs. what is available in the USA
(Or even if that makes sense upholstery-wise)

In my case, I ended up finding a junk front seat base I could rob original good springs from.
