I can't remember exactly what it's called but it came in rolls of both black plastic and chromed plastic. It goes on the edge of the body and you usually have to grind off some of the glass in some spots [sides mainly] to make it thin enough to fit. Anyway when I wasn't ready for it every store seemed to sell it, now I'm ready no one seems to have it, or I'm just not seeing it somehow.
I had several places/pages bookmarked with it on them and both pages are no longer any good. I'm looking for the black if anyone knows of a place that still sells it.
Thanks
Meanwhile, I'll still keep looking |

Is there any pics of this installed on a buggy? Would like to see it. Basically it is what we use to have years ago to cover/ help the edges of the big doors from dings and dinging other vehicles. Correct?? |

AMAC1680,
Thanks for the reply, but that's not exactly what I'm looking for. What I'm looking for wasn't a marine product necessarily and didn't have a barb on it, but thanks anyway. If I can't find exactly what I'm looking for one of those might work.
daanbc,
Sorry, no pictures. I don't have none on my buggy therefor I'm looking for it, and as I'm somehow not seeing on any of my normal stores I can't create any links for everyone. As I can't remember exactly what it's called it might be why I'm not finding in on searches. Looking at trim and interior products on places like Pacific Custom and Dan's and so forth I'm striking out. I don't know if it's my verbal description or maybe I'm just blind.
The stuff I'm wanting is the type you glue on but sadly you have to grind the back of your bodies edging as some parts are too thick, like the sides and in my case the bottom edge of my dash. I'm planning on using construction glue if I ever find a roll.
I'm pretty sure that Berrien used to sell it in both black and chrome rolls, both made from plastic. It could be they no longer sell it noe Acme bought them out.
Anyway I'll keep looking, thanks again for the replies. |

Most of our FLAPS stores still carries the rolls of chrome.
Search at motorcycle shops and dont forget JC Whitney...

Consider taking a sanding longboard to the lip of your buggy body and cleaning up that raw edge. Then go over that edge with some resin and sand again. Repeat until you have a nice, clean radiused edge and when you are done you might not think trim is necessary. |

Try the McMaster-Carr catalog. You can access it online.
I have some black trim from them I am using on my buggy.
It is mainly used to protect sharp metal edges of electrical cabinets. There are also various opening widths. |

Mine is roll goods, single piece wrapped entire edge of body. It's a channel type that simple slips over edge & locks in place; has worked great! I'm not home now, and can't recall brand name; will give it to you if you'd like.

I see the least amount to order is a roll of 250' for $125. Is this what you did? How much did you have left over? Also what size did you use? Thanks. |

Thanks VOLKSWAGNUT,
This was what I was looking for. Acme bought Berrien out after I bookmarked it and that's why my bookmark was no longer valid. All the same I spent several hours looking on this site but somehow never found the page you found.
The product looks to still be the same other than I believe the price may have gone up quite a bit.
Thanks again for the link. |

daanbc,
Sorry took so long to reply...haven't been online in a while. Yes, I ordered the 250' roll (chrome w/sand texture on black edge, 1/4" thickness, 1/2" leg length). I ordered free samples of different edge thickness first, to make sure it fit snug on buggy body (buggy manufacturers varied widely even between lots). I used <50' (including wrapping interior body edge), plus I sold 50' to a friend), so ~150' still in original box in case I ever need to re-wrap due to damage. |
