I have had problems with my choke since I got the THING. It would not open all the way when hot. I ended up, due to being busy with other stuff, driving it with the butterfly clamped open. It ran a lot better.
I finally took the carb off ( WEBER 32) and adjusted the choke on the back side.
It now works right and is a pleasure to drive. Of course the plugs were pretty sooty and nasty.
I pulled them and had to have Advance Auto order a set. NGK 7534 which used to be B6HS. They can have them in the morning. Auto Zone said it would take 3-4 days.

I hope these will stay cleaner now that the choke is right.
I also have some jets I could try for the 32.

With a progressive carb you are going to have a hard time keeping the plugs clean without spending a ton of work dialing in that Pinto carb. Take a look at this for help:

yep I've read that and a bunch of other information. I also bought some jets to try and replace the ones in there. As of right now though all is well..
