In the original 1969 film, was Herbie lowered a bit in the front when it was in full race attire with the wide rims? I am putting the 15 x 6 wheels on my car and I would like to have the car look like the love bug. Any help would be appreciated.

If it is in fact lowered they did one of three things back then: cut and turn the beam, install a Select-a-Drop for an adjustable ride height, or remove torsion bars.
Best way to achieve this today is to install adjusters on the beam.

You can get lowered spindles if you just want it bolt on.

15x6 wheels. Unless the tires are rubber bands it is unlikely that they will clear the fenders with drop spindles.
