Hi guys Im looking for advice help on building a vintage speed/okrasa style engine, i have a rag top oval but it has a 58 industrial engine bolt on dynamo stand. although its nippy i ' d like more, i do have a 1776 t/p but its wrong for the car.
The car came with a period correct spare engine, i have also bought an abarth exhaust and a bosch 010 distributor.
I would like to build a big bore engine, 1500 would be ideal
What can i use internally crank rods, cam, barrels&pistons, will later heads fit
I'm not too worried about using non okrasa stuff, if i can retro fit later parts easily enough i would rather that down to cost. I don't have stacks of money spare, so i need bare this in mind.
Any help would greatly be recieved
many thanks mark hopley

I look forward to following your thread.
I also want to build a period correct looking motor for my 54.
With that being said I do believe there are many people who like the vintage hot rod look but are not to worried about using all vintage parts.
It will be very informative to read the advice you receive.
Good luck with your build.

FYI a '58 engine has an integrated generator stand. If yours bolts on, it is later. They are completely different, and most parts are not interchangeable between the two.

Post a picture of your engine.
