Posted: Mon Aug 24, 2015 12:07 pm Post subject: Help with pricing some NOS stuff. |
|
|
So I've recently aquired, amongst lots of other early stuff, a pair of NOS 25hp bare heads, NOS 25hp pistons and cylinders with pins, clips and rings and a chrome NOS banana front bumper blade still wrapped in its wax paper and after some research in the classifieds, I'm still not sure where to start with pricing them. I'm guessing eBay would be an option but I'd rather not. And yes I understand this stuff is only NOS until you mount it up!
Any help or opinions greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Pip.

No problem, I'll take pic when I get home tonight. Another nice part in the stash is this March '49 speedo pod. Very cool!

Here's a few more parts to show as I weed my way through. Only the horn buttons (I have tons more horn buttons), hood badge, distributor cap and tailpipe appear to be NOS but the '53 barndoor (?) speedo, small roller pedal, star coil and football mirror are pretty cool too. That tail lights have different part numbers but original glass lenses. I'm thinking late 40's?
I also have this strange looking coil (not the star coil in the first pic) if anyone can help me ID it? Perhaps not a part VW used or super early?
Rear lights and L handle SOLD!

Yes it feels like Christmas around here! I actually traded my Lotus with a friend for all the parts and 5 VWs that he's had in storage for a long time.
Here's a couple of really nice early inner handles unfortunately only 1 of each though. Look at that poor old ebrake boot! Stiff as a board and another piece falls off every time I touch it! Crying shame! And what stash is complete without a bucket o' semaphores including a set of 40's directionals? Superb!
Inner early door handles SOLD!

First - nice score!
Can you post a photo of the back of the taillights?
They look like they could be 55-58 Euro Bus taillights.
Example:

I think you're right Ev. I took these pics when I was home this morning showing one type 2 part number but not sure what the "L" part number is for. Maybe I'll put em on my '58 Kombi if they're right. Any help on pricing for the thin slot with regulator would be great and I'm hoping someone will recognize that oddball coil from a few posts back.
Rear lights SOLD!
I'll look through the semaphores to see if I have some for a 52.
