I know the tab goes down but where on the clock does the center of the tab point? I noticed the turn signal switch prongs are on the right side and at 3 o'clock. So where do I place the tab on the adapter?

The steering wheel should turn about 180 degrees before the cam hits one of the two mechanical release buttons in the switch assembly. I had to check and confirm(I thought it was backwards), but the release buttons are opposite the lever. So, with the wheels straight ahead, the cam should be the same side as the lever

You probably don't want the lever right at 9:00 or you'll catch your foot on it getting in
