We all know the history of Speedwell and the ubiquitous BRM wheel. But where did the name come from, what does it mean, does it even mean anything?

Even the name Speedwell was supposed to be a play on the British phone exchange suffix, can anyone from England from back in the day confirm this? So I have a hard time believing that it was just random three letters.

Any ideas?

OK that makes sence, seeing how Graham Hill was the eventual owner of Speedwell.

Thanks for the link.
