Help wanted:
Very busy with my son restoring a 63 (modelyear 64) crewcab, but one confusing detail. With the search done in the gallery we see dashes with and without the warninglight next to the fuelgauge
The wiring diagrams for usa models dont show a separate bulb/warning light?
In the partsmanual I came across partnumber 211 953 221 is this the small warning light with the chrome bezel?
But main question is did all the 63 cars have the hazard warning light for sure?
Thanks in advance

The hazard warning light to the left of the steering wheel/speedo pod was a 64' model year addition. Your bus may be a 64' model year, but it will have "leftover" 63' parts used on it, especially since it is a commercial vehicle. What they did at the factor when they had changes for the new year was to use up all the old model year parts on commercial vehicles (pickups & panels). I have a 64' model year panel camper that came out in November 63' and it has ice pick door handles and the air filter in the engine compartment is on the left side. 64 was the first year of push button door handles and the air filter was moved to the right side the engine compartment. If there are no signs of the hole being filled or "shaved" by a PO then I'd say it came from the factory with a 63' dash without a hole for the hazard warning light. |

I have never seen a wiring diagram with that circuit. has anyone seen a factory '64 bus wiring diagram for a USA spec bus?
as far as I know, every USA spec '64 bus came with the warning light on the dash. I have seen hundreds of '64 buses and they all had them.
also, both of my '63 buses have the warning light on the dash from the factory, so it showed up in '63 model year. _________________ .

Yes, but $40.00 is way too pricey. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

That would be the day and month. What is the chassi number? You can "X" out the last two or three numbers if you are worried about that.
Have you looked up under the dash to see if there is any evidence of the E-flasher light hole? _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

is your bus USA spec or Euro spec?
Euro spec buses did not have the flasher circuit.
post the whole M-code plate if you are unsure and we can decipher it. _________________ .
