Hello,
I had been having intermittent issues with my ignition switch, would short out and not start, and so I would turn it off and then on again and then it would start normally. This was every few months or so.
Today went to start the car and the switch would go to the on position but not start at all, no matter how much wiggling, etc I did with the key.
I replaced the switch and now the starter will turn, but there is no on position so it will not continue to run, and no idiot lights turn on when the key is turned to the on position.
Berg Warner switch from FLAPS by the way.
Thanks,
Aiden

All of the connections seem to be intact. If it were a ground issue, would the starter still engage when the key was turned fully?

Oh, and I drove the car the day before with no issues whatsoever and didn't do any work on it in between if that helps.

Did you find a solution to this?

Developed this problem yesterday and thought was going to be stranded last night.

I have a feeling my switch is likely worn. Since I purchased the car, after starting the car I would have to back the key from the on position slightly or the engine would cut out occasionally. After last night's issue, if I do this the engine will quit.
