does any body use there custom VW for a daily driver? Personally i think it would be cool to roll into work in a dune buggy every day.

I have in the past. Back in '06 I think when the gas prices went ballistic, I started driving mine 40 plus miles each way on pretty days. I will again when I get my current project finished.

I drive my Buggy to work every day unless it is raining in the morning from middle of April thru middle of October.
I take it to work for a round trip of 20 miles any chance I can.

I usually get 3500 plus miles on it a year. That is close to half the mileage I drive per year.

I use mine as a daily driver. Even in the rain.

Tonight I am starting on Seat Heaters so I can extend the season this year, and start it sooner next year.

My Sebring kit car is more like a "weekly driver." I own my business and it's on the same property as my house so I can't really drive to work. I put about 150 miles a week though driving it around on errands as well as my wife and I going on short weekend trips. We've also gone on longer vacations with it easily doing 2500 to 3000 miles over a week or so. I do drive it year round but try to avoid heavy snow days when they bury our roads in salt and brine.

I seem to work on my Buggy Every Day does that count Smile

The biggest issue I find with Daily Driving the DSBE is the lack of storage space. Make picking up parts a bit of a hassle but apart from that it is sweet.

Although the kids don't seem to mind going places and driving it all the times means it is way more reliable than one that sits around and gets driver occasionally.
