I am looking for a Rear Apron Bulge style with the two cut outs for the exhaust, I am looking for the best quality possible and have already asked Antonio Trejo and he does not have any. I am reaching out to my fellow Samba friends for the guidance on finding one. I know Mid America has one but not sure how good the quality is. Thanks in advance, Alan _________________ Alan

I tried to find the same thing a couple years ago and gave up. There is no source for genuine VW (German or Mexican) panels. The repros from Dansk or Klokkerholm like MAM carries were described to me as "junk." |

Dodgy, Thanks for the reply, that looks like what I am looking for. I will give them an E Mail to see what it would take to get it to me here in the U.S. I agree johnR, I seen the one you are talking about from Mid America and thought the same thing, I definitely won't be going that route. Thanks for the reply. I would just think that there should be something here in the U.S. _________________ Alan

Good price, compared to what it'll cost to get one from the Fatherland. _________________ sent from a phone using poor grammar and spelling |

actually, if you look at the VW classic parts website, MAM is one of their US agents (the other is GoWesty), you may be able to order that same part through them. _________________ cars:

Yeah, I seen that one posted mysteriously about an hour after I posted my question and after months of nothing being available here on the Samba. you can easily tell that one has a lot of shelf life on it and looks as if something has spilled on it in the center. I am going to keep looking and eventually I will find one. I am in no means in a great big hurry. Thanks for everyone replying to my thread. _________________ Alan

That's about as good as it gets man. The VW Classic Parts stuff is NOS, as in, OLD STOCK, so it will be just as shelf worn. I wouldn't trust the pretty picture they put on their site. Everything else will be Klokkerholm garbage. _________________ 1971 STD BEETLE- DD-1st car, 1st love. keepin' it stock! 1600DP, Solex 34-3 Mexi Bosch SVDA Dist NOW w/POINTS

I agree. The finish doesn't really matter, as long as the metal is good. Remember, you're going to be cleaning, sanding, welding, and painting it anyways. Even brand new sheet metal can get scratched and dinged up. Did you ever post a wanted ad? |
