I have been looking into buying a Varga/TRW master cylinder for my '76 standard Bug, and I am kinda confused about which model to buy.

Here are the two models I have been looking at:

113611015BDBR

113611015DBR

Are these the same part? If not, what's the difference between the two? Are they both dual-circuit? Most websites I have visted offer little info on these.

Contact the vendor using those numbers and ask them.

Even sometimes the vendor does not even know. Brakes are nothing to skimp on for sure.

Pretty sure they're the same part. Simple google search shows Airhead and a few others use the BDBR designation, jbugs and some others use the DBR designation but they both show they are TRW/ Varga for 67-77 standard bugs.

Those are both Brazilian (BR)...and BD seems to be their latest code letters. I would recommend spending the extra money for a German MC.

Varga-TRW will work, but I had a bus MC go bad in less than two years. Switched to German-made after that experience.

Here's the one I installed a couple years ago on my Beetle: http://store.concept1.ca/Master-Cylinder-T1-67-77-GRM-113611015BD-GRM/
(NB: that price is in Canadian dollars...it would cost less in USD).
