So i've seen Diamond plate and some type of fiberglass side panel on buggys. i'm looking for something smoothed that can be painted to match the body. The basket case build had fiberglassed panels that looked smoothed on the puzzle manx. i'm looking for similar look. Any ideas? Can I just get a sheet of metal and shape to fit? what is everyone using? thanks in advance

I don't know how well plexiglass will hold onto paint.

If you painted it on the inside it might hold up, but for how long I have no idea.
My glitterbug has flat side panels on it. Their fiberglass and have a front splash guard moulded into them. Their original to the car too.

My sides had some sort of nasty undercoat on them so I just ground it off and laid a layer of cloth on it with resin and squeegee and they came out pretty smooth, painted it semi-gloss black and the sort of became invisible... IF I were to do it again, I would go with full side pods molded in and put accesses panels from inside for storage ( coats and sun glasses and such)...
