1989 Westy
Well I have all but given up on finding:

251-953-513B/BK Turn Signal / Dimmer Switch, 1980 to 1991 With Cruise Control

All because of a shot contact wiper for the horn.
I am looking at taking the top plate off a new switch and just replacing the contact. It appears to be an isolated unit that once accessible can be removed. The only problem I see is the plastic rivet over the lever spring. I am thinking I can grind it off, drill that plastic rod, tap it for an 080 miniature bolt and screw it back together with a drop of glue….
Looks reasonable from the out side.. is there some hidden flaw with my thinking?
Thanks

Sounds reasonable to me. I think I held my last wiper/turn signal sw assy together like that.

Thanks. Been talking with the folks at Gowesty and may it be simpler yet. They say the wiper and its insulated plate can be removed without taking the metal plate off. Sort of twist and push up on the connection pin.
