Saw my first Christmas commercial on TV.

They've got to be kidding me.

Never too soon. I am tempted to buy Candy canes to hand out for Halloween. If stores are going to sell them, I might as well put them to use.

Kmart has been running layaway ads on tv here since last month. Guarantees that I won't shop there.

I've found that to really enjoy Christmas one must have small Children in their lives.

The excitement, the wonder, the magic of it all vanishes as we age.

The day before..... is even too soon for me..

Just the seasonal hype to brainwash consumers into spending..

My rule.. no decorations allowed at/in/on our home until after Thanksgiving..

Don't drink the Kool Aid people..

It's Festivus for the rest of us..

On a side note.. I still cant figure out what subliminal messages are playing to make every damn female crave Pumkin' Spice this time of year.. Shocked

It will help if the idea of Pumkin' Spice lube is reconsidered. Wink Laughing

This will be the second year of "skipping" Christmas in our household.
No gifts or decorations but we still watch the movies and TV specials and have a special dinner with fancy cocktails.
I can't tell you how relieved and de-stressed we both feel about it!
No kids in our house but we do have a cat who likes to open his Christmas stocking. We'll see how good he's been this year...

I just wish it could be about family instead of stressing about gifts, and whos getting what and who will be hurt. UGH! Id rather just jamb the whole family on a cruise or something and enjoy some time. Id rather give away something I already have than get another thing I dont want. You can bet if its something I want or need....I already have it!

I was telling a lady at work today I no longer decorate my house at Christmas or put up a tree. She ask why I was a "Bah,Humbug" scrooge. I told her I had nothing against Christmas but I was done filling the closets and garage storing the shit the other 11 months you are not using it.

We will be decorating, probably the first weekend after Thanksgiving. That's also when we will go get a tree.

We've done this every year since the kids were born. Now that they are almost 30, they would be heartbroken if they did not come back to a house full of Christmas stuff.
