I need some winter rims for my winter tires I just picked up and I found a set of 4 off of a Honda Civic (4x100). Will these fit in my mk1 rabbit?

Thanks,
Trevor

From what I've heard, the Honda hub (center hole) size is smaller than VW. You can fit VW rims to a Honda, but not the other way around.

This is correct.

You could have the rims bored, at least if they are alloys - not sure how much meat there is on a steel wheel. The center bore for the VW is supposedly 1mm larger - research to be sure, but that sounds right from my days of auto crossing VW;s and owning Hondas,

Lots of the Vanagon guys have the centers bored out on other brands (like MB) alloy rims. Note the Vanagon is not hub centric, so the bore is not real critical, I have no idea about the Rabbit.

Perhaps cheaper just to find some other VW rims.

Watercooled are hub-centric, the centering hub is pretty important.

Sorry, I should have said Vanagon, (water or air cooled) is not hub-centric. Will edit above.
