So i am putting in a transaxle in my baja and it is all bolted in. The shift linkage is about 1/4" too long to fit onto the hockey stick. I REALLY do not want to unbolt the whole damn transmission to get a 1/4" of clearence. Is there anything i can do at the coupler or in the linkage that would be easier?
Thanks

You could weld an extension on the coupler if it isn't adjustable. I don't know how hard it is to take a linkage out of a stock bug, but this adjustable end would work well. I just installed it in my sand rail this weekend.

Have you tried popping shifter out to get better movement of rod?

What do you mean by popping? Like trying to get into reverse?
Thanks

No.... Try taking out the two bolts that holds shifter assembly to tunnel and removing it, this allows the shift rod to move back and forward some more and then maybe you can get coupler on to hickey stick....
