Hello all, I have a problem with my front right turn signal only. I've attached pics -- 'cause I like pics. Initially I thought it was the bulb, so I replaced it (bulb was not flashing, but staying steady, no such problem with the left turn signal). Through trial and error, I figured out that if I did not screw down the housing plate all the way down (a few threads), the bulb would actually flash. However, the other issue, is that as soon as I hit the brakes (e.g., when making a stop to turn right), the bulb stops flashing and goes steady again. Once I release the brake, it starts to flash again. Any ideas?
2nd issue, after driving the VW on the freeway for a bit, once I stop, say in a parking lot, the oil light comes on. Mind you, the engine has plenty of oil in it, might even be topped off by a half a quart... Any ideas on that?
Thanks.

I won't weigh in on the electrical as I'm not too familiar with the idiosyncrasies of the '68 wiring.
Concerning the oil light, are you saying you may be 1/2 quart overfull? If so, after driving any distance at all, the oil would become frothy(filled with air). This can cause you to lose viscosity when the oil becomes aerated. I was always told to never overfill as the crank will aerate the oil.
Good luck with the electrical gremlins.
