I have a set of early pedrini wheels and want to run them on my '69 ghia. i have heard the early ones only work with drum brakes. Just wanted to know if that is true and if so is there anything i can do to make them work with discs? _________________ '70 ghia

Also if anyone has a good source for getting the correct lug bolts that would be awesome. _________________ '70 ghia

Take a wheel, mount it on a rotor and see if it spins (or even bolts on)- very easy to find out . _________________ On a lifelong mission to prove (much to my wife's dismay) that Immaturity is Forever!! |

All 914's (which is what the Pedrinis all came on) were equipt with 4 wheel disc brakes. The later '73-76 914 used hub-centric brake rotors. They have a ring that meshes with the cut out in the rim. So if you have hub centric rotor (which I doubt) and early 00 (vs 01) Pedrini's then just get the front rims machined down. _________________ CMC '57 Porsche Speedster Replica and Dolphin boat tailed full pan VW MOD-T Street Buggy |

The early "00" suffix will not fit with "German" rotors that have the centering ring.
Options:
1) use "01" wheels
2) use aftermarket rotors without the centering ring
3) machine the ring off German rotors
4) machine the rings to clearance the ring
"00"
"01"
Make sure you get the "correct" lug bolts. Many aftermarket sellers sett watercooeld lug bolts with the wrong seat.

Okay so i can make these work then. Do you guys have a source for the correct lug bolts that won't cost me a fortune? Or atleast something that may not be 100% correct but is safe to use. _________________ '70 ghia
