So we are working on the interior of my 73 super convertible and starting to put in the heat sound protection, the car has been rebuilt basically as it was very rusted, we installed a new rear luggage rack, the entire thing had to be replaced, the new one came with bolts that stick out of it facing into the car, what would these be for?? Anyone?? there are 3 along the back of it I believe. |

A photograph would be very helpful.
Can't even begin to imagine what you are referring to.

Don't know, but am installing in a '67, so I cut them off. I assume later models have insulation or something that lays in, and is held in by those plastic washers? Maybe? |

Holes are a result of the manufacturing process and were sealed with body putty. _________________ Rick

They are for carpet hold downs, my '96 Mexican Beetle has them, in the front also:

So the screws are for carpet hold downs? And the holes need to be filled with body putty? Is that correct?? Just to be clear my super is not a mexican |

In your case no, just cut them the studs off and fill the holes with body putty. You just have a replacement Mexican piece in your German bug. _________________ Rick
