why do you need the know the hole position, isn't there one there?

For the key, turn the key on, push the button to start the starter.
No key on, no ignition.
Starter will crank, but no power to coil/distributor.

Hi, if you got the measurements can you post them here so they are on the site for other people to use in the future?

Thank you.

No holes? I'd be looking for the repair where it used to be, or wondering if it was a car that originally had one?

In my June 1953 oval a previous owner had fitted a larger diameter aftermarket starter button so he had to make the starter button hole larger to fit the new one.
I plan to cover the hole with fresh metal and then reopen it in the original diameter and exact position.
If someone can measure accurately the diameter of the starter button hole and the distances between A to B and A to C the center and eventually the position of the hole can be relocated.
A :Center of the starter button
B and C :Left edge of the speaker grill holes

I can take measurements of my RHD Feb Zwitter. Sure it would be a mirror image of a LHD dash?

My body is ready for paint but I first need to double check all the holes in the dash. Will sart a new thread with questions.

Probably the position of the starter button on the LHD is symmetrical to the RHD but even if it isn't it would be useful to know that too !
With your measurements we just need a confirmation with the measurements of an LHD to see if they are the same.
I can measure my oval since the starter button hole is there, only bigger, but it would be more accurate if the original starter button is in position.
For more accurate measurements It would be best if the speedometer trim is not in place.

Curious in wonder, looking at the photo of the Zwitter dash, what is that Aluminum button above the center of the speaker grill opening?

I measured my RHD's dash. A-C and A-B will be slightly different but not by much.
I thought it would be more accurate if measured from different directions from the starter button's hole.

A-B: 348 millimeters.

Was measuring above A (the reinforcing support to the front window pillar) to A: 61,5 millimeters.

Then the nearest point of the top hinge hole to A: 167 millimeters.

It's a map light.

Thanks for the measurements Jdt1976. Smile
We need the difference ,even small, between A to B AND A to C to pinpoint the position of the starter button a soft ruler would be more accurate for that ,also should be measured from the OUTER edge of the oval shaped speaker grill hole to the EXACT center of the starter button if the starter button is in place or if you draw the center of the starter button hole on a piece of paper behind the hole.
With the other side of your caliper you can measure the diameter of the starter button hole (the most important measurement for my case).
With the two reference points you added (the reinforcing support of the front window pillar and right door hinge screw) and the above I think we have all we need.

Important notes:
- look that the speedometer is installed;
- for the first pics, the starter button is installed, too;
- so, the rule was slightly arched, touching the starter button, the trim ring of the speedometer and near the speaker grill hole:

Perfect,thanks Capriacci really appreciated . Smile
These measurements will be useful in many cases where a larger starter button or gauge meter was fitted in that place.
It may take a while until I do the repair to my car and post some photos but the basic idea is to use a thin wire bend at point A and the sides A to B and A to C of the wire at the lengths kindly supplied by Capriacci and then hook the two edges of the wire to points B and C respectively,eventually point A of the wire will saw the center of the starter button \ hole.

Does anyone know how big the Heater Channel hole is on a Zwitter and a few measurments on where its centered? I just replaced my heater channels and they were rotted out before hand so I dont know the measurments. I also used different ones then the ones in this picture. Opps. Thanks in advance.....
