I have a complete 66 beetle pan with suspension im wanting to switch my squareback to wide 5. im orderin mounting brackets to relocate them on the type one beam. What are my options to convert my back to wide 5. I did some reading on switching to the thing brake assembly. Am I able to switch out transaxles out of my 66 pan? Any ideas are greatly appreciated

All you need to switch the rear to wide 5 is a pair of Type 3 wide 5 drums. They are a direct swap.

Ok awesome thanks! Does it matter what year type 3 drums or anything. Id assume theyd all be the same for all the type 3.
