Thanks Jason, it's been fun matching the paints with whatever aerosols I have laying around. Thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster for the Preval paint spray system. And thank the PO for sanding the surface rust down and using catalyzing primer before

No no no no no! The fuel pump hummed off the double relay signal, so I know the #50 circuit is getting voltage during starting. I will not play parts darts with ANY car, especially the one I have pledged to spend zero unnecessary dollars on! Razz

No I'll just start a kickstarter and ask for money instead of getting off the couch and getting a job.

So glad I don't have to deal with that kind of crap in Florida. That really sucks. Just to make sure I understand what happened, you went in just to get an idea of how close/far your motor is to passing emissions, and he did the test and put you in the system as failed?

Let us know what you think is needed for the motor to pass emissions, and we'll see what we can figure out. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/search.php?search_keywords=emissions&search_forum=5&search_fields=titleonly

Thanks a bunch; first up on my list is a call to CARB about the false test that he submitted. After that, I'll be either playing by his rules and testing every year at a Star Station, or continuing to hone my AFR for maximum engine life and economy while registering it in Oregon…

It's ok! You're the only one commenting on this thread right now that I haven't met in real life. Brian, Stu, Bill and the gang love to give me a hard time, because for some reason they think I can take it and enjoy it. Laughing

I'm already missing it. And I'm missing it's subtle green paint that no 21-st century camera can bother to pick up. I'm missing it's beautiful 1st gear synchronizers that have 181,275 miles on them and STILL shift better than my Rancho rebuild. I'm missing it's seven seats and rear engine access hatch, and most of all I'm missing that Type 4 echo off my garage walls last thing before I go to bed. Crying or Very sad Is that bad?
