I have always liked Baja's but this needed to be saved
This year I picked this up this 56 in Washington state .

someone attempted to graft back on a nose.

I think the only way to really fix this is to find a downer car and lots of parts.

I found a 60 bug that will get me most of the way there

the back end looks like a 70's graft

The plan is to keep the 1960 pan, nose , heater channels, and engine.

1 dismantle the 60
2 replace pan halves in 60

Pans done.

next step is to brace the 56 to get it ready to cut out the heater channels
and front firewall and old front nose

Why not replace the halves on the 56 pan so it stays a 56 instead of a 60 with an oval window and dash?

I'm putting pans in both.
I have a title for the 60. When I can get a title for the 56 I will move the body over to the 56 pan
