|
|
Red Givens was the owner. The dealership sold VW's from the late 60's to late 80's on the corner of Rose and 9th streets. Previous to that the VW dealership in Walla Walla was Schiebe VW. Givens did lots of VW repairs but they did not have a big lot or show room, so the dealer frames are not common. I have not seen a Red Givens frame in 20 years - I own a Schiebe, which I would think is quite rare. |

3rd post in the thread... Still looking for one of these frames. I'd even just like a PICTURE of one if anybody has a picture. I know they exist, but I've never even seen what they look like. |
I reposted my wanted ad on Louisville Craigslist after posting this. I've had it running on and off for probably 4 years. Within a day, I got a reply from a guy saying he knew of one on a junk squareback and he only took notice of it because he remembered seeing my ad at one point. He's going to see what he can do to get it for me. |
And now I haven't heard from him in 6 months and am getting no replies to e-mails I send... |
Dude came through! He sent me this picture on Saturday. It does have a break on the top right corner, but I'm good with that! Trying to work out payment and shipping logistics with him.

Arrived in the mail yesterday. And turns out this isn't the one he emailed me about originally. He found a 2nd one. Said he's still trying to get his hands on that 1st one... _________________ -Andrew |

Does anyone know the names of VW dealerships that might have been around the Warner Robins or Macon, GA area in the 60's? _________________ |o\#/o|

After years of searching, I finally picked up a tag frame from the dealership where my '72 Super was originally sold.

Guys, you HAVE been patient, I have no control over these idiots that are plating your frames,,,,
I am MORE frustrated than you are, believe me!
Once I'm done with them, I will no longer be doing frames,,, I love the end result, I HATE the people I have to work with.. _________________ AlwAys VW, (O\_!_/O)

I understand the problem with who your dealing with because i've talked to them aswell but I would have took the frames by now and went somewhere else. At this point I'd be happy just to get the frame back... |

|
|
I'm trying to gauge the value of a plate frame I have and hopefully this thread can help me out. I have a Ron Price VW/Porsche plate frame that I'd like to sell but, when looking for comparable frames, I can only find the later Ron Price VW/Mazda/Subaru frames. I have the original California blue plate with this frame as well.
Can someone on the forum tell me about this frame and what price range I should expect from it? In my research it seems like Ebay would be the way to go with it in order to catch the Porsche collectors. Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
