Quick question. I looked at other posts and got mixed answers. I have a 1300. It has a 6v 180mm non o-ring flywheel on it and I need to put a 12 volt 200mm o-ring flywheel on it. Will it fit?

Short answer: No.

Long answer, you can have the flywheel machined to remove the O-ring portion, and use the metal gasket.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox.

Yep, that's the answer...on the flip side, a non-o-ring flywheel can work on an o-ring crank.

Why do you need the 12V flywheel? You could keep the 6V starter and flywheel and still run 12V's...Use a 12V solenoid on a 6V starter and it will last a long time...starts the engine much faster as well

Thanks guys! I have a 67 bug 12volt. And my 1300 is 6v that I will be putting in. So looks like I'm going to put a 6v gear into my 12v starter. Thanks again for the help!

You actually have the opposite of what I described.

I thought you had a 6V car...pre-67

A 12V starter will not work with a 6V flywheel. You need to modify your o-ring flywheel as suggested above by glutamodo
