Issues to deal with. Width. Length. Breaks.

I will be attempting the first structural repairs on Wednesday. Why not tomorrow? 95F vs 78F.
I will have someone supervising that has glass repair history. Woot! _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

you could use a buggy/sand rail chassie(with leagel size tubing) for the most part and build the type of drivers cage you want or 2 seater. i would loive to have an extra body to make it look just like my street speedster....but a tad bit more underglass. |

Flipped the body back over, measured out the center to center on the wheel cut outs... it isn't 85 or even 87... it is 90.5" that means I only need to pull 4" out of the pan.
I plan to do that in front of the bulkhead. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

Loaded up for an 80 mile drive to get the pan shortened. 4.5" coming off so that the wheels are in the correct position under the car.

Pan is shortened. Cage alteration is started. The tubing for widening of the pan is purchased and the saw to cut it all is now here...
I have the engine and transmission as well now... So, all materials are here for the major things. Fall/winter will be fun!

Altering the cage now that it is in a new car. Tomorrow I'll start sorting where I want the pedals and staging brake. Small progress, but progress none the less!

Just read an article from an old Hot VW's back in June 2007 that mentioned this car.
Marty Staggs got the car from Lloyd Mosher and ran it. |

Could you PM or email me the article? I bought it from one of Lloyd's former employees' sons. His dad is the one that was driving when it went upside down. Lloyd was in the other lane in the LGK rail. _________________ 64 No'back Speedster "Pearl"

So, I cut out part of the pans and have made the bracing for the roll cage install, but... My wire feed welder isn't up to the job. So, I'm saving pennies to get one with some more oomph. Here is where it is at for now...
