Hey guys, my carb doesn't seem to work the butterfly down the stepped cam by itself anymore after a cold start. When i start, it is almost closed which is fine and revs high, but then it doesn!t work itself down to the lower steps by itself as the engine warms up unless i press the gas very briefly. Could this be linked to the vacuum on the back of the autimatic choke?

The choke is electric. There is a coil within the circular choke element housing, found on the Pass side of the carb, with a metal clamp held in by 3(three) flat head screws... It should be adjusted to full open on the butterfly, when the element is Hot, and opposite when cold.

I think I said that right...... Rolling Eyes

Thanks GI Joe. Actually all that works well and the electric element in the choke works i guess because when i press and release the gas once the engine is warm, the choke opens. However, the down reving of the engine as the motor warms up used to open by itself after 1 or 2 mins. Now it only happens when i press the gas to release the stepped cam downwards.

Not sure if i'm being clear!

You should have to press the pedal briefly to get the rpm to drop, that is 100% normal. The choke butterfly should open slowly on its own as the choke coil warms, but the idle will stay high until you blip the throttle.
