Huh? Is this a thing?

"1982 Volkswagen Westfalia camper with a recent conversion to an air-cooled 2.2L Subaru engine."

Seen here https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/5605683443.html

love how ads like this never post pics of the odd bits & pieces.

it either has a subie with a rad in the front (or back)
or it has it's stock 2.0l air cooled motor and the "non mechanical" owner is remembering something wrong.

if it has a subie in the back and radiator in the front (have my doubts based on that rear valence img) ten it's worth the $4500 asking price.

a vanagon doesn't 'require' the lower grill for effective cooling of a non-excessive motor HP.

Interesting that they cut out the panel between the taillights and mounted an ugly Subaru grill piece for an "air-cooled" Subaru engine.

My buddy and I discussed buying it and yanking that joke of an engine, but felt it probably had too much rust to bother with as a flipper.
