Hi, I bought three years ago a complete dual carbs kit from riechert for my 1200 vintage speed engine

- dual nos Solex 34pci
- riechert linkage
- riechert manifolds

I have a problem with the accelerator pedal ..... It is hard and my workshop says that the problem is the linkage ... in particular the shape of the bell cranck that not allow a correct lever.
I attached some pictures ... Anyone has this linkage ? Is everything fitted properly ?
Can you give me any advice on how to make the accelerator pedal softer ?

Thank you

Hi,

it's hard to say frby the pictures. You should adjust the linkage in a way, that when the trottle is half open all angles are 90°. Than the middle drill hole in the lever arm should be sufficient. Also make sure that the links for the carburators are absolutely equal length. Don't use them for adjustment.

Best regards
Steve

Nice looking motor you have there!

Looks to me like you may need to adjust the bracket up a little to prevent it grinding on the end of the throttle tube.... Also, your center linkage spring looks quite tight, I can imagine it would create a lot of tension to the pedal too..... My Riechert kit came with 2 of those springs attached together in the kit.... if yours didn't come with the 2 springs, perhaps you could try a longer spring?
